Sogno Di Vino, nestled in the heart of San Diego's Little Italy, has garnered a reputation for its authentic Italian dishes and vibrant atmosphere. Diners rave about the exceptional quality of the food, with highlights including a standout Arancini that enchanted one guest after a 22-year quest. The Gnocchi with pesto is another favorite, celebrated for its robust flavor and stunning presentation. Many patrons have been particularly taken with the Risotto Alla Piemontese, served in an intricate parmesan bowl that adds a unique touch to the dining experience.
While most reviews laud the culinary offerings, some dishes, like the vegan ravioli, have drawn mixed reactions, indicating room for improvement. Nevertheless, the overall consensus reflects a deep appreciation for the restaurant’s authentic preparations, including the classic lasagna and a luscious pistachio cheesecake that completes the meal delightfully.
Though a few patrons noted slower service at times, the friendly and accommodating staff have consistently enhanced the dining experience. With its perfect blend of flavor, ambiance, and genuine Italian hospitality, Sogno Di Vino stands out as a beloved destination for both locals and visitors, making it a must-visit for Italian cuisine enthusiasts.

The bread with red sauce as an appetizer was excellent. There was a special on the menu for vegan ravioli. You’ll see in the photo, it was a plain ravioli with fake butter sauce, stuffed with veggies but no vegan cheese. I wouldn’t recommend this particular dish - it felt very oily and I found up asking for extra red sauce to eat with it. My partner did like his regular, cheesy ravioli. I’d go back and order a regular pasta primavera to give it a second shot!

Sogno Di Vino is located in San Diego's Little Italy. We, (wife and I) were with another couple. The gentleman spent a couple of years in Italy and was searching for Arancini, which he hadn't been able to eat in the last 22 years or so. He was extremely excited to see it on this menu. That was the deciding factor to try this place. It was incredible. One of the best Italian eateries I've ever tried. In fact, 10 days later my wife turned to me and said, "I can't keep thinking about eating at Sogno's. I want to go back." So now we are planning another trip to San Diego around eating!! We tried the Gnocchi with pesto sauce. While a pretty simple dish, it was excellent. lots of flavor and the pesto was certainly the highlight of this dish. It was perfectly balanced. The presentation was spot on. We also tried the Risotto Alla Piemontese. If it says truffle, my wife wants to try it. This was a beautifully constructed dish. The Risotto came in parmesan shaped like a bowl. As the parmesan warmed up, the shape slowly disintegrated, but the warming parmesan with the rest of the dish was next level excellent. The truffle flavor was very, very light, which will often disappoint my wife, who LOVES strong truffle flavor. The other flavors and the entire combination of flavors compensated for the lighter truffle flavor. This was an ensemble piece. Each flavor contributes to the whole dining experience. The service was excellent and patient with us... They were friendly and added to the enjoyable dining experience. I'm sure there are other really good restaurants in Little Italy. I'm pretty sure we may not try them....

One of the best American Italian restaurants I’ve frequented in the west coast. For food was authentically cooked to perfection. The pistachios cheese cake and classic lasagna was as good as it gets. Real loud but handsome Italians were here while I was eating, so it got a little loud as they expressed their happiness while eating good food with friends.

Great Italian food, fun street views. Service was a little slow, had to ask for refills on beverages. But overall a great place to eat Italian food

We had an early dinner in Little Italy before flying out of San Diego Airport two weeks ago. We had originally planned to dine at another highly rated restaurant but decided to take a chance on this one because a great outdoor table was available. We were very glad we did. The service was friendly and efficient — our entrees arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered. Both pasta dishes — the seafood linguini in white wine sauce and the squid ink pasta with seafood — were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The prices were also very reasonable. We truly enjoyed this meal before our long flight.

We were we were in town for my grandson's graduation from the United States Marines and we had the most amazing meal. I live in Florida and I wish I could find the food that's comparable.

First time visit with 7 girls vacationing in SD. Started with apps. Meatballs, caprice and focassia bread. All excellent. I had the Cioppino which was loaded with seafood and served in a thick red broth. Others had the pesto gnocchi, lasagna, mushroom fettuccine with sausage and so on. Everybody absolutely enjoyed their dinner! The tiramisu was light and delicious. Service was awesome!
